Atlanta rappers and new restaurant owners, T.I. and Killer Mike are bringing back an old love of the community for more than 50 years. Bankhead Seafood is getting a fresh makeover. The restaurant, which is located at 1651 Donald Lee Harden Pkwy NW, won't actually open its doors until sometime later.
Bankhead Seafood will have a food truck in the meantime displaying the new logo of bold yellow and red writing, painted on the side, that will be up and running this Spring.
T.I. And Killer Mike purchased the business about two weeks after the owner Helen Harden closed the business due to health issues. They purchased the name, trademark, and recipes, and plan to reopen around the restaurant around this time next year. Mrs. Harden will still be a part of the restaurant, no word on what her position will be.
In addition to the renovation, more parking will be added and turning the restaurant into a more of a sit-down restaurant with about 130 seats and a rooftop dining area.
